About the game

Cotton Candy is a cheerful little skill game set at a fair stall. Animal customers line up, each holding up the size and flavour of cloud they want, and you make it on the spot by circling the stick around the spinning drum. The floss winds on as you go round and the cloud swells toward a dashed ring that marks the order size; serve it when it fills the ring. Every order is scored on how close the size is and how fluffy the cloud turned out, and a day is won when every customer is served with a good average before closing time.

The twist is speed. A needle under the drum shows how fast you are circling, and only the green band makes real cotton candy. Go faster and the thin strands snap off, shrinking your cloud; go slower and the sugar clumps into sticky lumps that ruin the fluff. On later days the green band narrows and drifts as the machine heats and cools, so you have to feel the rhythm and keep adjusting your hand. Twenty days bring more orders and pickier customers. Stars come from the day's average.
