About the game
Big Two is a favourite shedding game across East and Southeast Asia, quick to learn and full of bluffing. Four players get thirteen cards each. Cards rank from 3 up to ace, and the 2 is the highest of all; when ranks are equal, spades beat hearts, which beat clubs, which beat diamonds. On the table you can play a single card, a pair, three of a kind or a five-card poker hand, and every play must beat the last one with the same kind. Five-card hands rank straight, flush, full house, four of a kind plus one, and straight flush. When everyone passes, the last player leads anything they like. Whoever holds the 3 of diamonds starts, and the first to play out all thirteen cards wins.
The twist is a planner that teaches the hands. Your hand is split into its strongest set of combinations, shown as coloured underlines, and the hint suggests the play that keeps those combinations intact. Whatever you select is named live, so you always know whether it is a pair, a flush or nothing at all. Six tables go from a relaxed noodle bar to the Dragon Hall.
