  1. Hold anywhere (or Space / Down) to press the fox into the sand: do it on downslopes to pick up speed, and let go before the next uphill so the fox launches off the crest.
  2. In the air, hold to dive sooner.
  3. Landing along a downslope is PERFECT and adds speed; hitting the face of an uphill is a thud and costs speed.
  4. Reach the palm tree before the sandstorm on the left catches you.
  5. Stars by your time against the par.

About the game

Dune Surfer is a one-touch momentum game about a fox who would very much like to stay ahead of a sandstorm. The fox rides a sandboard over endless rolling dunes, and the only thing you control is how hard it leans into the sand. Holding makes it heavy: on the way down a dune that turns into speed, but on the way up it drags you to a crawl. Letting go makes it light, so a fast fox floats off the top of a crest and sails over the next valley. The whole skill is in the rhythm of press, release, fly and land.

Landings are where runs are won. Come down along the back of a dune and the board kisses the slope for a PERFECT boost; come down too early and smack into the face of the next hill and you lose a big chunk of speed. Holding in the air lets you dive to catch a downslope you would otherwise overshoot. The twist is that the dunes are not still: from the second run on they swell and sink to the beat of the music, so a crest that looks low may be rising under you as you let go, giving you a bigger launch. Eighteen runs get longer, add flat stretches with nothing to push against, and make the dunes breathe harder.
