About the game
Gradient Sort is a calm colour puzzle set in a painter's studio. A cat in a beret has a canvas of small colour tiles that should blend from one corner to the other, but someone has mixed them up. Swap two tiles at a time until the whole canvas flows again. Tiles pinned with a brass tack never move, so they show you where the colours belong.
The twist is the eye. Tap it and the board turns grey for a couple of seconds, with its brightness stretched, so tiny steps between light and dark suddenly stand out. On some canvases the colours run left to right while only the brightness changes top to bottom, and the grey view is the only way to see it. Twenty-five levels grow from a 3 by 4 sketch to 48-tile canvases, swaps are limited, and three stars go to a perfect sort.
