About the game
Hamster Power is a cosy little management game about a town that gets its electricity from hamster wheels. Every day the demand curve rises for breakfast, dips through the quiet afternoon and peaks in the evening when every lamp and oven is on. Your team of hamsters runs the wheels, a small battery stores what they make, and if the battery runs dry the town goes dark.
The heart of it is pacing. A fresh hamster runs at full speed, a tired one slows down, and an exhausted one simply flops on its wheel until it gets some rest or a seed. Resting in the nest brings their energy back, so the clever move is to give runners a nap in the quiet hours and have everyone fresh for the evening rush. Twenty-four days add more wheels, a chubby sprinter who tires fast, a sleepy plodder who never stops, a festival spike at noon and longer, busier days.
