About the game
Card Ladder is a quick numbers race at a card table full of animal sharks. Everyone holds a ladder of numbered cards. On your turn you either draw the hidden top card of the deck or take the face-up card on the discard pile, then swap it into any rung of your ladder. The card you replace goes face up onto the pile. The first ladder that climbs from the lowest number at the bottom to the highest at the top wins.
The pile is public, and that is the whole game. Every card you take from it shows the others what you are hunting, and the number strip lights up those ranges. Watchful rivals stop throwing those numbers away, while a blind draw from the deck keeps your plans secret. You can read them the same way. 25 tables add rungs, rivals and sharper eyes.
