About the game
Spit Shot puts you in the fins of an archerfish, the real fish that hunts by spitting water at insects above the surface. Your pond sits under a jungle tree, and beetles, flies and dragonflies land on its leaves. Swim to a good spot, aim, and knock them into the water before the sun goes down. Each pond has a quota, a sunset timer along the top, and a small streak meter: miss three times in a row and every bug on the leaves takes fright and flies off, which costs you precious daylight.
The twist is the physics the real fish has to handle. Your jet travels straight underwater but bends where it leaves the water, just like light, so aiming straight at a bug shoots under it. The flatter the angle, the bigger the bend, and past a certain angle the jet cannot leave the water at all and splashes back. Lily pads block shots from directly below, so you cannot always swim right under a bug. Early ponds show the whole bent path; later ones show only the first stretch. Flat, long shots and dragonflies score more. Stars come from accuracy.
