Controls

DragHold
  1. Drag from a twig, or from a strand you already spun, to another one to lay a strand; it costs silk equal to its length.
  2. Flies and beetles that cross a strand stick and are eaten, giving points and fresh silk.
  3. A strand longer than the warning length (it shows orange while you drag) snaps if a beetle flies into it; shorter strands hold the beetle for a bonus.
  4. Catch the number of bugs shown before time runs out.

About the game

Web Weaver puts you in charge of a garden spider at dusk. A frame of twigs and a few leafy stems surround an empty patch of sky, and flies keep buzzing through it on wobbly paths. Drag from one twig to another to spin a strand of silk; any fly whose path crosses a strand sticks there and becomes dinner, which also refills your silk. Each garden has a quota of catches to reach before the light fades, and a silk meter that every strand draws on by its length.

The twist is the beetle. Beetles fly straight and heavy, and a strand longer than the warning length snaps the moment one hits it, while a short strand holds the beetle and counts it as a bonus catch. So every strand is a small decision: a long line across the whole garden catches more flies but may be gone after the first beetle, while short, well-braced strands take more silk and more time to cover the same sky. You can also anchor new strands on old ones to build a proper web. Twenty gardens bring more flies, more beetles and bigger quotas. Stars come from how far past the quota you get.
