About the game
Gomoku is the old five-in-a-row game played on the crossing points of a 15 by 15 wooden board. Take turns placing black and white stones; the first to line up five or more in a row, across, down or diagonally, wins. Three pandas wait for you: Bao is relaxed and easy to trick, Mei blocks almost everything, and Lin hunts for chains of forcing fours.
The first player normally has a big edge, so this version uses a swap opening. One side places the first three stones, black, white and black, and the other side chooses which colour to play. Build a shape that looks even, or judge the panda's shape and take the better side.
