Controls

Tap
  1. Logs float in from the left and drift with the current toward the sawmill on the right. Tap just above a log to push it down, or just below it to push it up.
  2. A log that rams a rock end-first, or gets pinned against a bank, jams and turns red: tap it again and again (the red dots show how many taps) to pry it loose. Jammed logs sink after a while and are lost.
  3. If too many logs are jammed at once (the JAM bar fills), the river locks up and the run fails. Logs that touch tie together into rafts of up to four.
  4. A raft scores a bonus point for every extra log, but it is heavier to push and needs more taps to free. Deliver at least 70% of the logs to pass; more points earn more stars.

About the game

Log Drive is a fast river-steering arcade game about the old job of floating timber downstream. A busy beaver walks the bank with a long pole while logs pour in from upstream. The current carries them toward the sawmill on its own, but the river bends, eddies push the logs sideways, and rocks sit right in the fastest water. A log that glances off a rock slides past; one that hits it end-first stops dead and jams, and so does a log pinned against a bank on a sharp bend.

Your pole only pushes sideways, so the skill is reading where each log is about to go and nudging it early. The twist is that logs that bump into each other tie together into rafts. Rafts are worth a bonus at the mill, one point for each extra log, so herding logs together is how you reach three stars. But a raft of four is heavy: your pokes move it less, it drifts wider through the bends, and if it jams it takes several taps to pry loose while more logs pile up behind it. Every jammed log fills the JAM bar, and when it is full the river locks up. Eighteen rivers bring narrower channels, faster water, stronger eddies and more rocks.
