About the game

Morse Tap teaches the international Morse code the way radio operators learn it, by ear and by hand. In a SEND round a letter or a short word appears and you key it on a big brass key: a quick tap makes a dot, a longer hold makes a dash, and a short pause finishes the letter. A bar under the key shows how long you have been holding, so you can feel the line between dot and dash. In a RECEIVE round a lamp blinks and beeps a letter, and you tap the one it sent from four choices. Three mistakes and the round is over.

The twist is that the speed follows you. Every right answer in a row adds one word per minute to the playback and shortens the pause that ends a letter, and a miss drops it back by two, so the code always runs just about as fast as you can follow. New letters arrive two at a time in a fixed order, starting with E and T, and early levels print the code under each letter. Later the chart disappears, short words like SOS, TAXI and RADIO appear, and send and receive rounds mix. The hint button shows the code for the current question.
