About the game

Island Nations is a shading logic puzzle based on Shimaguni. The board is a sea split into regions by thick walls, and every region must hold exactly one island: a group of land cells joined side to side. When a region shows a number, its island is exactly that many cells. Two more rules keep the nations apart. Land from two different regions may never touch along a side, so there is always water at the border, and two regions that share a wall must have islands of different sizes. That last rule is what ties the whole map together, because a size you pick in one region rules it out next door.

The twist is that the size rule speaks up as you play. The moment two neighbouring regions both finish an island of the same size, both islands flash orange with an equals sign, long before you reach the end of the puzzle, and land touching across a wall glows red at once. Finished islands get a green tick or a green number. Thirty puzzles grow from 5x5 to 8x8, each with one answer and few numbers. Hints fix a wrong cell or decide the cell with the most clues around it.
