About the game
King Tafl is the board game Vikings played long before chess reached the north. On a 9x9 board, eight defenders guard their king on the throne while sixteen attackers wait at the edges. Every piece slides like a rook. Trap an enemy between two of yours and it is gone, so every move is both a threat and a risk.
As the defender you win by bringing the king to any corner castle. As the attacker you win by closing in on the king. The danger overlay marks in red every square where your piece would be sandwiched next turn, and makes pieces already in trouble pulse. Climb a ladder of six rivals, defending and attacking against easy, normal and hard AI, and earn up to three stars each.
