TapDrag
  1. Drag a film card from the library onto a screen row: where you drop it is its start time.
  2. The bars at the bottom are audience groups, showing the kind of film they want, the window in which the film must start and how many come; they turn green when everyone gets a seat.
  3. Drag a scheduled show to move it, or off the rows to remove it.
  4. Shows on one screen can't overlap, including the cleaning time after each one.
  5. When the plan looks good, press OPEN and watch the evening play out.
  6. Beat the revenue goal.

About the game

Movie Night is a short planning game about running a tiny cinema. Each night you get two or three screens of different sizes, a timeline from five in the afternoon to one in the morning, and a small library of films: space adventures, spooky tales, dinosaur epics, romances, mysteries and cartoons, each with its own running time. Animal audiences are coming, and each group knows exactly what it wants: a certain kind of film, starting somewhere inside its window, with enough seats for everyone.

The puzzle is in the packing. Long films earn extra because viewers buy popcorn at the intermission, but a three-hour epic blocks a screen for most of the evening, and every show is followed by cleaning time before the next one can start. Big groups need the big screen; two groups who want the same genre at overlapping times can share one show if the seats allow it. Everything updates live as you drag: each show shows its expected crowd, and each group bar turns green, orange or red. When you open the doors the clock sweeps across the evening and the takings roll in. Eighteen nights add screens, films, groups and longer cleaning. Stars depend on how close you get to the best plan.
