About the game
Showdown Poker is a friendly game of heads-up Texas hold'em against a ladder of eight animal rivals, from a nervous bunny to a calm tiger champion. You both start with a thousand chips and the blinds rise as the match goes on. Take all of the rival's chips to beat them and unlock the next seat at the table.
What makes each rival different is how they behave. Right after a rival bets or calls, their face gives something away: ears that perk up or droop, a wagging tail, a bead of sweat, a sly grin, quick blinking. Some rivals are honest about it, some do the opposite on purpose, and the best ones rarely show anything. Your notebook records every tell next to what the rival really held at showdown, so patterns build up as you play. Bluffing matters too: big bets scare a timid rival but never a raccoon who calls everything.
