About the game
Hidden Ranks is a pocket war of secrets. You and the AI each hide twelve pieces on a small field split by two lakes: a flag, two bombs, a spy, scouts, miners and officers up to the marshal. Move one square at a time, or run your scouts down open lines. Step onto an enemy and both ranks flip up: the higher rank wins, equal ranks both fall, a miner defuses a bomb and the spy takes down the marshal if it strikes first.
Everything you learn sticks. Revealed enemies keep a rank sticker wherever they go, pieces that have moved get footprints so you know they are not bombs, and the strip on top counts the ranks you have not seen yet. The AI plays fair with the same clues.
