About the game
Maple Tap is a cosy, busy farming game set in a snowy maple grove at the end of winter. A bear in a plaid cap drills the trees, hangs a bucket on each tap and carries the sap to a little sugar shack, where the fire boils it down into jars of golden syrup.
The twist is the weather. Sap only runs on days that follow a freezing night with a thaw, so the forecast board matters more than speed. Every tree can be drilled once per season and its tap heals after four dawns, which means a tap drilled before a cold snap or a warm spell is simply wasted. Strong swings fill buckets fast and spill them if you look away, and the pan only holds so much. Twenty-four groves bring longer seasons, more trees and shorter forecasts.
