About the game
Snakes & Ladders is the oldest dice race there is, with a modern twist. You and up to three animal racers start below square 1 and roll a die to climb a 100-square board. Land at the foot of a ladder and you shoot up; land on a snake's head and you slide all the way down its tail. You have to land exactly on square 100, and any extra steps bounce you back.
The twist is power cards, which turn every roll into a small decision. After each roll the game shows where you are about to land, then you choose. REROLL throws the die again, NUDGE moves you one step more or less, SHIELD lets you stand firm on a snake's head instead of sliding, and SWAP, played before rolling, trades places with whoever is in the lead. You start with two cards and pick up more on star squares, and your rivals hold cards too, the sharp ones saving SWAP for the perfect moment. Six boards go from a friendly meadow to a snake pit with three rivals.
