About the game
Element Hunt turns the periodic table into a search game. The first six periods of the table fill the screen, and a clue card asks for one element. Sometimes it is just the symbol, sometimes the atomic number, sometimes a position like group 14, period 3, and sometimes a family, such as the halogen in period 3 or the alkali metal in period 5. Touch the table and slide your finger across it: a large magnifier above shows the tile under your finger, and letting go picks it. Three wrong picks end the round, and a wrong pick always shows where the right one was.
The twist is that the table remembers what you have learned. Every element you find stays coloured in its family colour, even after you close the game, and when every member of a group, one whole column, has been found, the column starts to glow. The title screen counts how many of the eighteen groups are lit and how many of the seventy-one elements you have found so far. Thirty levels start with symbols in the first rows, move on to atomic numbers, then positions, then families, and end with every kind of clue across the whole table.
