About the game
Boules Bay is a relaxed game of boules on the beach. A little orange jack sits on the sand, and you and an animal rival take turns throwing three boules each. Whoever is farther from the jack throws next, and at the end of each round the side holding the point scores one for every boule closer than the other side's best.
Every throw asks a question: high or low? A lob arcs through the air and stops almost where it lands, perfect for nestling up to the jack. A roll lands short and runs along the sand, harder to judge but strong enough to knock a rival's boule away or nudge the jack itself. Fifteen rivals wait on three courts: soft sand, a bumpy pebble cove and a beach that slopes toward the sea. Later rivals are steadier and will happily knock you out.
