About the game
Countermine is a game of listening. Moles in hard hats are digging tunnels from the far side of the field toward your castle, one row every turn, and you never see them underground. What you have are badgers with big ear trumpets. Each badger shows how loud the digging is at its spot, from silence to five bars, and the sound fades with distance. One reading tells you a mole is near; two or three readings from different spots tell you where.
Every turn you may move one badger, then blast one spot. A blast collapses that cell and the four around it, and any tunnel you hit is revealed on the map. Miss, and the moles dig on. Later waves bring more moles at once, sappers that sometimes dig two rows in a turn, and quiet diggers that are harder to hear. A mole that reaches the wall costs a heart; lose three and the castle falls. 20 waves, with stars for the hearts you keep.
