  1. Drag back from anywhere and release to strike your ball; the longer the drag, the harder the hit.
  2. Run the hoops in number order, each in its arrow direction, then hit the peg.
  3. Each turn is one stroke; running a hoop adds one stroke, and hitting a rival's ball adds two (once per rival ball per turn).
  4. Flowerbeds slow the ball and trees block it.
  5. The first ball to the peg wins.

About the game

Croquet Lawn is a top-down garden croquet game. Each lawn has four to six numbered hoops and a striped peg in the middle, and you race one or two animal rivals around the course. Hoops must be run in order and in the right direction, shown by the arrow on the hoop you need next. Every turn gives you one stroke, and running a hoop earns one more, so a careful player can string several hoops together in a single turn. Flowerbeds slow the ball down and trees stop it dead, so later lawns ask for angled approaches.

The twist is the roquet. Strike your ball into a rival's ball and you earn two bonus strokes, once per rival ball each turn. That makes attacking a real choice: a ball sitting near the next hoop can be a free stepping stone, and knocking a rival out of position slows them down as well. The rivals play by the same rules and will happily use your ball the same way. Twelve lawns grow from four hoops against a hedgehog to six hoops against a hedgehog and a tortoise. Stars come from how many turns you need.
