About the game
Pixel Quest is a compact top-down action adventure in chunky pixel art. Moxie, a small mouse knight with a steel cap, sets out from a quiet village to find four treasures hidden in the Moss Cellar, the Ember Mines, the Sky Ruins and the Shadow Crypt. Each dungeon has a handful of rooms with slimes, bats, shielded beetles and ghosts, small keys and locked blocks, crystal switches, a boss key and a boss guarding a heart container.
The treasures are the heart of it. The boomerang can hit switches across water and fetch keys you cannot reach, bombs crack suspicious walls, the hookshot pulls you over pits and lava to iron posts, and the lantern lights the dark crypt and its torches. Every new item opens paths back in the village and in dungeons you have already cleared, where most of the twelve gems are waiting. Progress saves automatically, and a fall only sends you back to the dungeon entrance.
