About the game
Garden Planner is a calm puzzle about who grows well next to whom. Each level hands you a garden bed, a few stones and a tray of seedlings. Every plant yields two, gains one for each friendly neighbour and loses one for each rival: corn, beans and squash help each other, tomatoes love basil and carrots, carrots get along with onions and lettuce, while corn and tomatoes squabble and beans cannot stand onions. Hearts and crosses appear between neighbours as you plant, and every plant shows its current yield.
The twist is the sun. Light comes from the top of the garden, so tall plants like corn, tomatoes and sunflowers cast a shadow on the square below them. Sun lovers such as tomatoes, squash and basil lose two in the shade, but lettuce gains two. Thirty beds grow from tiny squares to big plots with stones in the way.
