About the game
Germ Jump is a two-player strategy duel on a lab culture plate. On your turn you move one germ to an empty well. One space away and it clones, so the original stays and you gain a germ. Two spaces away and it jumps, so it moves without growing. Wherever it lands, every rival germ around that well turns your colour. The game ends when the plate is full or one side can no longer move, and the bigger colony wins.
The catch is the hole. A jump can reach deep into rival territory, but the spot it leaves is open, and the rival can drop into it to take back every germ around it. While a germ is picked, the plate shows what each move gains and how much a jump puts at risk. An owl coach teaches the first three plates, then six animal rivals take over across 24 plates.
