About the game
Homerun Derby is all about one perfect swing. A wind-up robot pitcher throws from the mound, and you swing by tapping when the ball reaches the box over the plate. Timing decides where the ball goes: early pulls it, late pushes it the other way. Where you tap decides how it flies: right under the middle of the ball sends long, high drives, while tapping on top of it makes grounders.
Every pitch that does not leave the park is an out, and a called strike counts too, so let the wild ones go. Ten outs per round, three rounds, and each round asks for more home runs. The robot has tells: its eye glows a different colour for fastballs, curves, change-ups and sliders, and the wind-up speed gives it away too.
