Controls

Drag
  1. A number appears in the sign.
  2. Drag the frog along the line and let go where that number belongs; it leaps there.
  3. Land close enough and it counts, too far and it splashes.
  4. For decimals like 0.37, first drop it in the right tenth (between 0.3 and 0.4); the line then zooms in and you place it exactly.
  5. Three splashes end the round.

About the game

Line Leap builds number sense on a number line. A sign names a number, such as 7, 3/4, minus 2, 640 or 0.37, and you drag a little frog along a wooden line to where you think it belongs, then let go. The frog leaps and lands; if it is close enough the round moves on, and if it is too far it splashes into the pond while a green flag shows where it should have gone. Three splashes end the round. Landing almost exactly on the spot is a BULLSEYE worth extra points.

The twist is that the line changes scale to fit the number. Early levels run from 0 to 10 and 0 to 100, then halves, quarters, thirds and mixed numbers between 0 and 3, then negatives on a line that runs from minus ten to ten and beyond, then hundreds and thousands where one tick is worth a hundred or more. For two-place decimals the placing happens in two
