About the game
Snowboard Cross is a four-rider heat down a course of rollers, berms and table-top jumps, seen from the side. One control does most of the work: hold to press your board into the snow. Hold on the downhill side of each roller and let go on the uphill, and you pump free speed out of the terrain. Off a jump, a ring shows where you will land; hold in the air to come down sooner and touch down on the green landing ramp instead of the flat.
The twist is drafting. Ride close behind a rival and you slip through their wind while your boost meter fills. The course is one line wide, so a rider at a similar speed blocks you; spend the boost to slingshot past. Time the gate drop for a holeshot. Twelve heats, top two advance, and clean landings earn the third star.
