About the game

Tile Paint is a calm counting puzzle about a wall of ceramic tiles. The grid is divided into tiles of one to four cells, outlined with dark grout. You glaze tiles, always a whole tile at a time, and the numbers along the edge tell you how many painted cells each row and column must end up with. A dot marks a tile you are sure stays bare. Every puzzle has exactly one answer, and you can reach it step by step: when one choice for a tile would make some clue impossible, the other choice must be right.

The twist is the feel of the glaze. A painted tile drops into place as shiny glazed ceramic with a soft clink, and every clue has a small gauge that fills as cells in its line are painted, turning green on an exact match and red the moment the line overflows or can no longer reach its number. Small walls start gently, while the 8x8 walls have a few clues missing and ask you to reason across the whole wall.
