About the game
Gaps Solitaire is the classic patience also known as Montana. All 52 cards are dealt into four rows of thirteen and the aces are taken out, leaving four gaps. A gap can be filled only by the card one higher than its left neighbour in the same suit, and a gap in the first column takes any 2. Build every row from 2 up to King in a single suit to win.
The quiet trap is the King: nothing is higher, so the gap to its right is dead until the board changes. Each gap shows a ghost of the card it wants, and dead gaps go dark, so you can see the whole board's needs at a glance. When you run out of moves, redeal: sorted runs stay put and the rest is shuffled back. Three redeals per game. Every deal was checked as winnable by a solver.
