About the game

Single Track puts you in the signal box of a little country railway. There is only one track, with a few passing loops where two trains can stand side by side. Every train has a departure time and a deadline, and your job is the timetable: how many minutes each train waits at each station.

The trains simply follow your plan. There are no signals to save you, so if two trains heading toward each other end up on the same stretch between loops, they meet nose to nose and the whole line locks. A loop also holds only two trains. You find out by pressing RUN and watching the clock tick, while the train graph on the right shows each train as a line so you can spot crossings in advance. Slow freight trains, more loops and tighter deadlines arrive over 25 timetables.
