About the game

Yin Yang Stones is a quiet logic puzzle built on balance. Every cell of the board must hold a stone, either black or white. All the black stones have to form one single group connected side to side, and so do all the white stones. On top of that, no 2x2 square may be filled with only one colour. A few stones are placed for you, and from those alone the whole board can be worked out.

Two hidden rules help a lot once you notice them: a 2x2 square can never be a checkerboard, and the colours around the outer edge can only change twice, otherwise one colour would be cut in two. The twist is the ribbons. Neighbouring stones of the same colour are tied with a thin thread, and as soon as a colour becomes one whole group, its thread turns into a glowing ribbon that flows around the board, so you can see at a glance which colour is still split. Thirty puzzles grow from 6x6 to 9x9, each with exactly one answer.
