  1. Swipe in a direction, tap the arrow pad, or tap a cell next to the head to crawl one step. The head can go up, down, left or right into empty space; the rest of the body follows.
  2. After every step, if no part of the worm rests on ground (an uneaten fruit also counts), the whole worm falls until something catches it; falling into the water or onto spikes undoes the move. Eating a fruit makes the worm one segment longer.
  3. When every fruit is eaten, the exit opens; crawl the head into it. Undo and restart are free.
  4. Stars by moves compared with the shortest solution.

About the game

Grav Worm is a compact puzzle game about a hungry worm in a world with gravity. Seen from the side, each level is a little island of dirt blocks over water, with fruit floating here and there and a swirling exit somewhere high up. The worm crawls one cell per move, head first, and every fruit it eats makes it one segment longer. Eat them all, and the exit opens.

The catch is that the worm is heavy. After every move, if no part of its body is resting on solid ground, the whole worm drops until something catches it, and a drop into the water sends you back a move. That makes the worm's own body the only ladder in the game: you can push the head up into the air only as long as some other segment is still holding on below, and a worm that has grown longer can reach higher, bridge wider gaps, and also get itself stuck in tighter corners. Uneaten fruit counts as ground too, so the order in which you eat matters: a fruit can be a step before it becomes a meal. Every level was built by a generator and checked with a full search, and they are ordered from ones a simple greedy crawl can solve to ones that need a plan. Undo is always free; stars compare your moves with the shortest solution.
