About the game

Light Beams is a calm night-time logic puzzle. The board is a dark square sprinkled with lamps, and each lamp carries a number. Every lamp must shine one straight beam, up, down, left or right, and the beam lights exactly as many cells as the number says. Beams cannot leave the board, cannot pass over another lamp and cannot overlap each other, yet when you are done every dark cell must be lit exactly once. Every puzzle has a single answer, and there is always a next step: some dark cell that only one beam can still reach.

The twist is how the light moves. When you swipe from a lamp or tap it, the beam sweeps out across the board with a rising hum and a shimmer running along it, then locks in with a bright click if it fits cleanly. Where two beams cross, the clash flickers red so you can spot it at once, and the counter at the top tracks how many cells are lit. Small boards start gently; the 8x8 nights have twenty lamps to aim.
