About the game
Mallet Polo puts you in the saddle as a fox captain taking on a ladder of animal teams, from a sleepy sheep to a fierce lion. Gallop around a lively arena, chase the ball and swing your mallet to drive it between the striped posts while the crowd cheers or groans.
The catch comes from real polo: you may only strike the ball on your pony's right side. Charge straight at the ball and it often ends up on the wrong side, so good players curve in early and let the ball slide past their right stirrup while heading for goal. Ponies tire as they gallop, and between chukkas you choose which of your three ponies to ride next: fast, balanced or nimble. Later matches bring a teammate and a second rival.
