About the game
Swim Relay is a four leg race for a team of animal swimmers: an otter, a frog, a turtle and a beaver. Tap the left and right sides in turn to pull through the water, keep a steady rhythm instead of mashing, and when the air bubble runs low, tap the middle button to take a breath. On longer races you also flip at the wall, and every relay changeover is a reflex test: dive the next swimmer in right as the teammate touches.
The twist is your breathing. Each breath costs a moment of glide, and every stroke you take while holding your breath gets a little stronger, so holding on is faster. Run out of air, though, and your swimmer gasps and stalls. The frog is quick but has tiny lungs, while the turtle is slow with huge ones, so the rhythm changes every leg. Twenty four meets move from shuttle relays to 4x50 races with turns.
