About the game
Rect Split is a quilting take on the logic puzzle Shikaku. The cloth is covered with numbers, and you sew it into rectangular patches. Each patch must hold exactly one number, and its area must match that number, so a 6 can be a strip of six or a two by three block. When every cell belongs to a patch, the quilt is done.
Some clues are question marks. They hide their size and only promise that their patch is a perfect square, which can be tiny or huge. Thirty-six quilts grow from five by five to ten by ten, each with a single answer you can find by logic. Patches that break a rule get a red badge right away, and the hint shows the clue that forces its next patch.
